Our Health
We are both healthy 32-year-old individuals and in good physical shape. We
have no major ongoing medical needs.
Our Financial Management
God has always taken care of us financially and we have tried hard to be
good stewards of what he has given us. Tithing is non-negotiable, and we
give beyond that. We have completed Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
materials and then led a group through the study. We have been debt-free
since February 2008, except for our home mortgage.
My grandparents, Vernon and Mona Newland, were missionaries in China/Tibet and Philippines in the 1930s and 40s. Upon returning home, they helped to begin 5 Christian Colleges and over 20 churches around the country. (St. Louis Christian College, Dallas Christian College, MidSouth Christian College, Midwest Christian College, and Iowa Christian College).
My father, Paul Newland, has been in ministry for many years and recently retired from a 35-year ministry of a church he planted in St. Louis. He is now a minister in Huntingburg, IN.
I have three older brothers who are also serving in ministry: Doug, Scott and Brent.
Lacy also grew up in a Christian family and her family has been involved in ministry, as well.
